For this cruise, we have carefully selected the boat 'LE R/V ANGKOR PANDAW'.
This small boat, built in 2012 in a Saigon shipyard, allows for close access to the banks of the Red River. Its shallow draft allows it to navigate in Halong Bay as well as on the Red River and the Lo and Da rivers where the flow can vary greatly.
Notes :
The price is based on a group of 2 travelers sharing a cabin on the boat.
The programs are indicative.
Due to unforeseen circumstances such as tides and weather conditions, itineraries are subject to change during the cruise.
Please also note that departures from December to March have an alternative itinerary due to rising water levels. We will cross beautiful rural areas as well as some interesting industrial places. During this period, there are always daily temperature variations that can range from 7C to 21C with very likely foggy weather.

Detailed Program (11 )
1
Arrival in Ha Long Bay (L,D)
You have arrived in Vietnam.
Welcome by the Typic Travel driver team at Hanoi International Airport (or at your hotel in Hanoi city) for the transfer to the meeting point in Ha Long Bay.
Board the RV Angkor Pandaw, your boat for this incredible week of exploration along the Red River. Lunch break en route.
Departure in the late afternoon, accompanied by a welcome cocktail, before beginning our overnight cruise.
Anchor for the night in a peaceful bay surrounded by wonderful scenery.
2
Cruise in Ha Long Bay (B,L,D)
The morning is spent cruising through Ha Long Bay. We discover some 1,500 limestone islets and fantastic rock formations dating back 20 million years.
We stop at Viet Hai Village to explore the mountains by mountain bike or electric buggy. Visit the village with its traditional houses and vegetable farm. To reach it, we follow a road winding between limestone peaks through breathtaking scenery.
In the afternoon, we continue our cruise towards Lan Ha Bay, with a visit to a floating house.
3
Continuation of the Cruise in Ha Long Bay (B,L,D)
Our exploration of Ha Long Bay continues with a visit to the Dark and Light Cave. We take a kayak or a small local rowing boat to enter what resembles a crater, echoing with the sounds of numerous bats. The stalactites are impressive.
In the afternoon, our chef will teach you all about fruit carving and spring roll making.
We leave Ha Long Bay and enter the Kinh Thay River, anchoring offshore from Hai Phong.
4
Ha Long Bay - Kinh Thay River (B,L,D)
Today we are on the Kinh Thay River, a key waterway for commercial trade. Life along the river is lively and very interesting to observe.
We then meet our guide in the dining room for a lecture about Vietnam, its history, geography and the boat people.
In the afternoon, we set off on an excursion to Thanh Ha Commune, walking through the villages. We have the privilege of attending a private water puppet performance, surrounded by lotus flowers and lilies. This is a typical Vietnamese folk art that immerses you in history and tradition through beautiful scenes, even without understanding the words.
We return on board and continue drifting along the river until late in the evening.
5
Following the Red River to Bat Trang Village (B,L,D)
The day is spent cruising towards Hanoi.
We stop along the way at Bat Trang Village, famous for its ceramics. Before returning on board, we enjoy a traditional lion and unicorn dance performance. Originating in China, this dance later spread throughout Southeast Asia.
6
Hanoi / City Tour and Walks in Hanoi (B,L,D)
We anchor in Hanoi, the bustling capital and one of Asia’s major cities, where we visit several remarkable sites: the prison nicknamed during the war the “Hanoi Hilton”, the Temple of Literature, dedicated to Confucius, and the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum.
Then, we take a walk around Hoan Kiem Lake, a place especially cherished by Vietnamese people.
In the afternoon, we wander through the narrow streets of the Old Quarter, stopping at a café to learn everything about Vietnam’s famous coffee production.
7
Hanoi / Cruise toward Viet Tri along the Red River (B,L,D)
Today we are on the lower reaches of the Red River, and in the morning we cruise towards Viet Tri. It may not be the most touristy place, but it is certainly an excellent starting point for exploring the highlands of Northern Vietnam.
After anchoring, visits are made on foot through beautiful rice fields and majestic karst rock formations.
Visit Thay Pagoda, with its two covered bridges, and Tay Phuong Pagoda, built on a small hill and famous for its hundreds of lacquered statues carved from jackfruit wood.
In the afternoon, we discover a village renowned for wood carving and the traditional production of handcrafted wooden objects.
Return to the boat, continue cruising and arrive in Viet Tri at the end of the day.
8
Viet Tri / Cruise on the Lo River (B,L,D)
In the morning, we cruise along the Lo River, departing from the Tien Du ferry station towards Gia Thanh Village, renowned for making conical hats, known as nón lá, which are believed to have first appeared around 3,000 years ago.
Throughout the journey, we are immersed in the sights and sounds of the river, bustling with traditional craft activities.
We then continue by bus to Hung Lo Temple.
9
Cruise toward the Black River (B,L,D)
We continue cruising downstream, enjoying the untouched beauty of the Black River.
We pass through Ba Vi National Park, rich in tropical and subtropical flora and fauna.
Then we arrive in Hoa Binh before continuing towards Duong Lam Village, listed by UNESCO.
In the afternoon, enjoy an unusual behind-the-scenes tour of the boat, including the kitchens, engine room and crew quarters.
10
Song Da / Cruise towards Hoa Binh (B,L,D)
Known for having been the scene of major battles with the French in 1951 and 1952, Hoa Binh is above all home to the Muong ethnic group.
The Hoa Binh Dam on the Black River is the largest hydroelectric structure in Vietnam and Southeast Asia.
We enjoy a boat trip on this vast reservoir and visit a local village on the way back.
In the evening, we enjoy a traditional dance performance given by representatives of the ethnic groups living in the hills.
11
Hoa Binh / Disembarkation and Return to Hanoi - Departure (B,L)
